My dad......

Isaac Franklin Davis
June 11, 1938- March 30, 2013

My dad passed away suddenly yesterday.  We are all still in shock.  I will write more later once I can collect my thoughts about this amazing Christian, husband, daddy, and friend to many!  There is comfort in knowing he is celebrating this Easter in the company of Jesus!

Please keep us all in your prayers at this time.  Especially my mom.  It has always been the two of them. Thanks so much.

Have a Blessed and Wonderful Easter!

Easter Wishes and a Twisted C4C with a Mojo!

Happy Saturday!   It is time for another Crazy 4 Challenge with the Crazies!   Check out the C4C blog for more challenge details with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C179).

Let's Twist Again like we did last summer! The focus this week is on the word twist ... Create some form of card that has a twist in it, it could be a twisted card, twisted easel card, twist a flex card etc.

For my card I am using Verve's Hoppy Easter stamp set.  I also used Verve's Cut Above Banner Bundle and Flourished Trim dies.  I am using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch286.

Twist!   I have never made a card with a twist before that I can remember.  Anyway, I chose to create a Twisted Circular Easel card!  Thank goodness for Splitcoaststampers and Beate's wonderful tutorial!  This was so easy I may try it again!  The hardest part was taking the photo.  No kidding!

Check out what the rest of the team did with this week's challenge!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a Blessed and Wonderful Easter!

If you got here from the wonderfully talented Silke's Blog, you are in the right place.

For my card I am using Cross of  Christ stamp set. I combined some of my Stampin Up In color patterned papers for this card.  So far I have not purchased any new designer papers this whole year.  I am trying to use more of what I already own.  Sort of a fun challenge for myself.   I added some stitching and layered inked distressed corrugated cardboard.  I decided to use one of my older spellbinder frames that I have not used in awhile.  I stamped the largest Cross in the set with Memento Cocoa ink.  I ink distressed the edges.    I finished with some tiny gold pearls, seam binding bow, and pearl button.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy the hop!  Next up is the fabulously talented Connie's Blog!

Triangles! - include a triangle of some sort on your
card or project. Your card/project could be a
triangle shape or you could just include a triangle
somewhere on your card ..... Your choice!

For my card I am using Verve New Mercies, Making a Statement, Grace Plain Jane, and Tag Time,  stamp sets.  I am also using some Verve Cut Above Loopy Blooms and Flag It dies.

      Clutch

I must admit that at first the triangle theme had me a little stumped.  Then, while perusing Pinterest for some spring fashions, I came across this cool clutchI thought it was the perfect inspiration for a cool triangle card sketch.  So, here is my take on a sketch from inspirationWhich has given me an idea for more Inspiration Inspired Sketches.  I will be doing this again!

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs 5th Anniversary Release Hop!  Each year Kelley releases  Anniversary sets that are collections of Scriptures,  sentiments, or quotes chosen by each of the design team members.    Today's hop will showcase most of these submissions.   We hope you love them as much as we do!

If you got here from fabulously talented Kathy's blog you are in the right place.  If not, you may want to start at the ODBD Blog so you do not miss anyone.

Here are the details of the hop:
      • Hop will run Mar 16 8:00am EDT to Mar 17 8:00pm EDT
      • Winners announced Mar 18
      • There will be THREE PRIZES of $25.00 Gift Certificates toward stamps! (must be claimed within 2 weeks)
      • To qualify for one of these prizes, simply hop to each designer, leave a comment and return to the ODBD blog to let us know you finished the hop, if you had any problems along the way, and most of all, leave your congratulations on this big milestone for Kelley and Rick!

For my card I am using the 5th Anniversary Release Quote Collection 3.  I combined the quote above with ODBD Antique Labels Designs stamp set along with the coordinating ODBD Custom Spellbinders Antique Labels and Border dies.
I chose this quote because it reminds me to stay focused and true.  No matter how grand a prayer or how little each must be made with faith.

As always thanks so much for hopping by!

Brighter Days! C4C, Sketch, and MORE!

Happy Saturday!   It is time for another Crazy 4 Challenge with the Crazies!   Check out the C4C blog for more challenge details with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C177).

It is the 3rd Saturday of the
      Month so it is
      Sketch Crazy Saturday!

For my card I am using Verve's newly released Surely Goodness  and Calendar Countdown stamp sets along with Brighter Days, Swan Song, Borderline, and Learning to Sail stamp sets.   I am also using  Verve's Cut Above Goodness Flowers die, Mini Bookplate die set, Scalloped Trim Trio die, and Starry die.

I stamped the focal image floral background in harvest gold ink using one of the larger flowers in the newly released Surely Goodness stamp set and die cut it with the coordinating Goodness Flowers die.  I then stamped the sentiment over top.  For the mini bookplate die, I stamped the coordinating frame using aqua mist and the numbers 24 and 7 from the new Calendar Countdown set.  I needed a backslash to make it look like 24/7.  I used one of the legs from the Swan Song for this look.  I did the numbers and backslash in Memento Love Letter red.  I once again used some harvest gold ink to stamp the sun from Learning to Sail behind it.

I finished my card with Verve's Spring Fling Ribbon Collection in Sunshine!

Check out what the rest of the team did with this week's challenge!

ODBD For the Love of Wood Anniversary Hop!

      For the Love
      of  God's Love Hop!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Design's Alumni Team's bi-monthly For the Love Blog Hop.  This week's hop is special since Our Daily Bread Designs is celebrating it's fifth year anniversary.  One of the gifts for a fifth year anniversary is wood. This week the Alumni team along with some of the ODBD designers are featuring a hop For the Love of Wood! Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, each stop will have a full list of links.  One of the posts is a hop hot spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to win a $15 ODBD store gift certificate.  So, all you have to do is hop along and see all the creations and leave a little love!  You have until Wednesday, March 27th, at 6 pm.   Enjoy all the beautiful designs featuring For the Love of Wood!

If you got here from the wonderfully talented Connie' blog, you are in the right place.

For my card I am using ODBD As You Graduate for the focal image.  I stamped the background in a soft aqua color.  I stamped the sentiment using Memento tuxedo black.   I decided to add a little bit of flair using the ODBD Blessed Christmas set set(yes...Christmas in March and without a Christmas theme) along with the ODBD custom Poinsettia die. As you see I only used the curly cue leaves and vines on the edges of the poinsettia to tuck under the frame.  Love using stamps and dies in different waysI stamped, die cut, and added some glitter.  Next, I decided to add a butterfly. I chose the butterfly single image. I stamped in Memento ink, die cut with the ODBD custom butterfly die.  I colored with copics and added some glitter.   I finished the card with a seam binding bow in soft green with a glittered button.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy the hop!  Next up is the fabulously talented  Tosh's blog!
